Dr. Solis was born and raised in Rio Linda, a small town near Sacramento, California. She attended UC Davis and earned her undergraduate degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior. She then completed the veterinary technology program at Yuba College and practiced as a veterinary technician until she was accepted into the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she studied small animal/equine track and worked as a large animal technician in the equine/camelid NICU, ICU and isolation units. As a student, she served as an officer in both the Veterinary Emergency Response Team, focusing on the small animal sheltering class and exercise, as well as Mercer Veterinary Clinic for the Homeless, an all-volunteer student program providing wellness services to the pets of the local homeless population. She was also heavily involved in the Orphan Kitten Project, particularly interested in feline neonatal care. After graduating from veterinary school in 2014, she completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at BluePearl in Southfield, Michigan. Following her internship, she remained at BluePearl as a Senior Emergency Clinician until the birth of her son, Emory, in 2016. She then relocated to Florida, working at Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. She joins the team at St. Charles with a particular interest in internal medicine and critical care.
