Dr. Ricci May

Dr. Ricci May, a true Nashville, TN native, boasts some interesting encounters, like seeing Reba at the dentist and having Carrie Underwood at her prom dinner. Her lifelong love for wildlife and birding began with her family's tradition of exploring a new national park every summer.

In 2014, she earned a BA in General Biological Sciences from Cornell University. During her college years, she actively engaged in raptor care, guide dog training, and horseback riding. She even served as the pre-veterinary intern at the Nashville Zoo during her year off.

In 2019, Dr. May proudly graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. While there, she held the role of avian Vice President in the avian, wildlife, and exotics program, and was a key organizer of a national veterinary student exotics symposium. Her global adventures took her to 15 countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia with the International Veterinary Students' Association. She also spent a month studying vulture populations in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

For her externship, Dr. May gained valuable experience at the University of Minnesota Raptor Center. In her leisure time, she cherishes moments with her cat, Layla, and her family in Orlando. Dr. May is thrilled to be a part of the St. Charles team and looks forward to making her mark!
