Dr. Savannah Porter

Dr. Porter is originally from Louisiana, where her lifelong passion for animals and science first took root. She completed undergraduate degrees in psychology and biology, followed by a master’s degree in biology, before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

Before pursuing veterinary medicine, Dr. Porter worked as a marine mammal trainer, trained sharks, and spent time working in a rodent research laboratory. Her clinical interests include preventive care, client education, feline diabetes management, exotic animal medicine, and marine mammals, with a strong emphasis on behavior and fear-free handling. She is a Cat Friendly Veterinarian certified by the Feline VMA and is passionate about creating calm, respectful environments for cats and other sensitive patients.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Porter shares her home with her fiancé and a lively assortment of animals, more than she usually admits out loud. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, attending music concerts and festivals, exploring farmers markets, and building things with her hands.
